Welcome to another exciting episode of Weekly Wings, your go-to podcast from DroneLife.com! In this episode, our hosts Paul Rossi, Samuel Stansberry, and Terry Neff dive into a myriad of topics that are both captivating and controversial in the world of drones.

We kick off with a discussion around the new Universal Epic theme park that will feature flying dragons as part of the How to Train Your Dragon area within the park. Video has surfaced of the drone dragon flying in Orlando and its certianly a sight to see.

Next, we explore the latest announcement coming out of Switzerland pertaining to the deployment of 300 drone-in-a-box systems across the entire country. These remotely piloted drones will be in place to help with public safety, emergency response and critical infrastructure inspections. Oversees we are seeing significant advance in BVLOS flight operations in what could be an attempt to help local start ups break into the US markets.

In our tech spotlight, we take a closer look at recent video coming out of China showcasing new gear that has been developed for military use. A bird drone is one of the new tools demonstrated in the video that is really stirring up a lot of conversation. What could bird drones mean for the future of warfare?

We also discuss the recent announcemnet sharing the integration of delivery drones by Ørsted to help better manage and maintain their wind turbines that are part of offshore wind farms. By leveraging drones to move parts and materials the company is increasing efficiency and safety while also reducing carbon emissions. Where will we see drones integrated next for the delivery of goods?

Lastly, we discuss the most recent Operations Over People (OOP) and Operations Over Moving Vehicle (OOMV) waiver issued to Censys Technologies that will further advance the BVLOS operations the company is enabling with its fixed-wing, EVTOL aircraft. Each week we are seeing more and more organizations obtain FAA waivers that allow for BVLOS, OOP, and OOMV.
